Speaking and Workshops
Helping Leaders Make Sense of Complexity
Organizations today are navigating constant change, competing priorities, and increasing ambiguity. Traditional leadership approaches often fall short in these environments.
My presentations and workshops are designed to help leaders and teams better understand what is really going on beneath the surface and how to respond more effectively.
This work is grounded in my research, interviews with senior leaders across multiple countries, and over 30 years of experience working in complex organizations. I bring a practitioner’s perspective, focused on what leaders actually face and how they navigate it in real time.
What I Speak About
My sessions focus on the practice of sensemaking as a core leadership capability.
I explore two interconnected dimensions.
Inner Sensemaking
How leaders understand themselves in the moment. This includes self-awareness, emotional regulation, resilience, and the ability to stay grounded under pressure.
Outer Sensemaking
How leaders interpret and act within complex systems. This includes exploration and mapmaking, storytelling and narrative, improvisation and invention, and adaptation and collaboration.
Together, these form a practical approach to leading in environments where there are no simple answers.
What Makes This Different
This is not a theoretical lecture.
It is grounded in real experiences from leaders navigating complexity in universities, public institutions, and multi-stakeholder environments. It draws on my doctoral research as well as ongoing conversations with senior leaders.
Participants leave with language, frameworks, and practical ways to better understand and respond to the challenges they are facing.
