Work with me
I work with leaders, leadership teams and boards navigating complexity, change and uncertainty.
Sometimes the challenge is strategic. Sometimes it is organizational. Sometimes it is deeply personal. Often, it is all three.
My role is to help people make sense of what is happening, create space for better conversations, and find practical ways forward when there are no simple answers.
How I can help
Strategic advisory
Complex organizations rarely need another generic solution. They need help understanding what is really happening, seeing the situation from different perspectives, and determining where there is room to act.
I work with senior leaders on questions of strategy, organizational change, governance and institutional direction. My role can range from thought partner and adviser to helping design and facilitate a broader process.
Executive coaching
Leadership today is rarely neat. It is ambiguous, fast-moving and deeply human.
My executive coaching supports leaders who are navigating competing demands, uncertainty, transitions and change. Together, we work on strengthening self-awareness, judgement, resilience and the ability to lead with greater clarity and intention.
My approach blends coaching and mentorship. Sometimes the most useful thing I can do is ask the question that unlocks different thinking. At other times, I can offer perspective drawn from my own experience leading in complex organizations.
Facilitation and leadership development
Some challenges cannot be worked through alone.
I design and facilitate retreats, workshops and leadership conversations that help groups slow down, explore what is happening beneath the surface, surface different perspectives and build greater understanding and alignment.
Sessions are highly interactive and designed around the particular context of the organization rather than a predetermined formula.
Speaking and board work
I speak with leaders, boards and organizations about sensemaking, complexity, change and what leadership really looks like when there are no simple answers.
Sessions can range from keynote presentations and panels to interactive workshops, executive team discussions and board sessions.
The work draws on my research, decades of leadership experience and ongoing conversations with leaders through Messy with Daniel Atlin.
A sensemaking approach
Across all of this work, I draw on the Leading in the Mess framework.
The work pays attention to two interconnected dimensions:
Outer sensemaking
How we interpret what is happening around us: changing circumstances, stakeholders, narratives, signals, relationships and uncertainty.
Inner sensemaking
How we understand what is happening within us: our assumptions, emotions, reactions, resilience and capacity to respond.
The aim is not to eliminate complexity. It is to help leaders and organizations navigate it more thoughtfully and purposefully.
What working together looks like
Every engagement begins with understanding your context. We clarify the challenge, what would be useful, and the kind of support that makes sense.
The work may involve a single facilitated session, an ongoing advisory relationship, a leadership development program, or a six-month coaching engagement.
Whatever the format, the work is practical, confidential where appropriate, and grounded in the realities you are facing.
Start with a conversation
If you are navigating something complex and think I might be able to help, the best place to start is a conversation.
We can explore what is happening, what you need and whether working together makes sense.
